Under Exposed

Love it or loathe it, the London Underground is one of the world's most iconic transport systems that has been carrying travellers across the city for more than 160 years. This collection of rarely seen archival photographs celebrates the sprawling subterranean network - from its pioneering creation in 1863 and wartime role as air raid shelter, through to the smoke-filled carriages of the 1980s and beyond. Take a journey through the Tube's rich visual history glimpsing bleary-eyed commuters slumped on moquette-covered seats and crowds bustling past striking neon signs - and marvel at the photographs that have fallen through the gap.
