This book is a kind of sequel to the book by Arieh Ben-Naim, published in 1987. In this book, Modern Solvation Thermodynamics, the authors describe in detail the new definition of the solvation process for which all the thermodynamic quantities are well-defined and meaningful.The first part of the book consists of nine chapters, written by Arieh Ben-Naim. Each chapter deals with one aspect of solvation thermodynamics. Specifically, this book includes several topics not discussed in the 1987 book, such as protein folding, self-assembly of proteins, etc. Chapter 10 presents the topic "Computation of Thermodynamics Functions from Quantum Mechanics Calculations," contributed by J A Sordo.
