Littoral Security
Littoral Security

Description
This study examines littoral security principles and develops a framework for structuring national arrangements through the case studies of Australia and India. While these countries possess significantly different geopolitical environments and security requirements, their approaches reveal identifiable common elements that reinforce the need for a distinct framework. The framework's primary objective is to establish coordinated structures across the policy, organisational, legal, and operational domains, enabling agencies to understand their roles and deliver required outcomes. Rather than prescribing specific organisations or operational procedures, it establishes principles that coordinate existing entities through policy and strategy instruments. This approach optimises resources, enhances operational effectiveness and ensures cohesive littoral security outcomes. By conceptualising and studying the littoral area as a functional entity, the book is able to contextualise littoral security within the larger national security architecture. This book will be of interest to students of maritime security, critical infrastructure, Asia-Pacific politics, and International Relations.
