Kimball O'Hara, an Anglo-Irish boy raised among Indians, knows every shortcut through the busy streets of Lahore and can talk his way out of almost any situation. He even catches the eye of the British Secret Service. But when he meets a gentle Tibetan lama searching for a sacred river, Kim's carefree life takes an unexpected turn. As they travel across the colourful landscapes of colonial India, Kim finds himself caught between two very different worlds: one of wisdom and self-discovery, the other of secret messages, hidden identities and dangerous missions.
