Memories of School and Playtime

This fascinating look at the past gives young readers the chance to see moments from Britain’s history captured in photographs. From everyday life in the classroom to playing on bomb sites during World War II, this book focuses on the lives of children in the 1900s. Many of the topics are “living history” and the author has interviewed people who were born during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s who were delighted to share their Memories of School and Playtime for the book.
