Description

Perched on the edge of an isolated and windswept field, overlooking Dundrum Bay, Co Down, lies a derelict Boat House, formerly the RNLI Tyrella Lifeboat Station. From 1838-1899 five lifeboats were stationed at Tyrella, saving over 100 lives; yet there are no folk memories, photographs or plaques to commemorate the brave men who risked their lives for others.
