Education in India

This book showcases a comprehensive and systematic study on education in India. It introduces the social and cultural basis of education in India, and examines education at all levels in India in multiple contexts such as history, geography, ethnicity, population, political system, economy, culture and religion. It also summarizes the characteristics of education in India, and analyzes the current issues and the direction of education reform in India. This book forms part of the project ‘Research on the Educational Systems of Countries and Regions along the Belt and Road’ project, a key initiative under the Philosophy and Social Science Research Program China’s Ministry of Education. This project aims to enhance mutual understanding between different countries, promote exchanges in education, enable the sharing of high-quality educational resources, boost the common development of education, and facilitate the construction of the 'Belt and Road' education community. This book serves as a reference for educational administrators, researchers, and practitioners, as well as university faculty and students in pedagogy and other related subjects.
